The Carousel staff is committed to helping healthcare facilities achieve their sustainability goals. Health Carousel has been a leader in supporting sustainable practices to meet the needs of tomorrow’s communities. It includes current investments in projects and programs that provide education, research, and experience with environmental stewardship initiatives.

It has won awards for its use of recycled content in its products, serving as a beacon of environmental responsibility and creating ecological awareness. They have recently supported Nursing Sustainability Initiatives (NSIs) with great success.

In 2010, the Carousel became the two-thirds owner of Health Care Services, Inc. HCSI, an HME company that provides services to hospitals and health centers throughout the nation. HCSI includes customer service, maintenance, and repairs for all equipment brands and is a certified FSC. FSC stands for Forest Stewardship Council, which provides certification to companies that practice sustainability in forestry.

It has partnered with HCSI to develop a line of products made with recycled materials. They have created an annual program to recycle used oxygen concentrators, wheelchairs, hospital beds, and large equipment.

In addition to these current initiatives, it aims to become sustainable by 2020. They partner with HCSI and other healthcare community members to make this goal a reality. Health Carousel believes that the future of healthcare is sustainable healthcare.
