Leopoldo Alejandro Betancourt Lopez is a Mexican businessman and entrepreneur. He is the chairman and CEO of OCI Partners LP, a port operator in the Port of Houston, and he also has investments in oil and gas, manufacturing, real estate, and technology. Alejandro Betancourt was born in Mexico City on December 10th, 1966. His father, Alejandro Betancourt Sr., was a successful businessman and his mother, Alejandra Lopez, was a homemaker. Alejandro has two brothers, Rodrigo and Javier. Alejandro Betancourt Lopez received his primary and secondary education in Mexico City.

He then attended college at the Universidad Iberoamericana, where he majored in business administration. Leopoldo Alejandro Betancourt Lopez began his career working for his father’s company, Grupo Desarrolladora Homex, one of Mexico’s largest homebuilders.

Leopoldo Alejandro Betancourt Lopez later founded his own company, Grupo Higa, which was involved in the development of residential and commercial real estate projects. As Alejandro Betancourt Lopez’s career continued to flourish, he became involved in a number of other successful ventures. In 2002, he founded OCI Partners LP, a port operator in the Port of Houston that specializes in bulk cargo handling and distribution. Alejandro also has numerous investments in oil and gas, manufacturing, technology, and real estate.

He is a board member of several companies, including OCI Enterprises Inc., a publicly traded chemical manufacturer, and Grupo Gondi, a privately held packaging company. Leopoldo Alejandro Betancourt Lopez has been recognized as one of Mexico’s most successful businessmen. He was named “Businessman of the Year” by Expansion magazine in 2008, and he was also ranked as one of the country’s top entrepreneurs by Forbes Mexico. Alejandro Betancourt Lopez currently resides in Houston, Texas with his wife and three children.

Despite Alejandro Betancourt Lopez’s many achievements, he is also well known for his philanthropic endeavors. He has been a strong supporter of various non-profit organizations, including Habitat for Humanity and the American Red Cross.
